Your voice is how you talk on camera, written down: how fast you speak, how long your sentences run, the phrases you come back to and the ones you’d never say. Channel setup measures it from your videos, and Matching the voice, one of the writing passes, brings every script written with it into line. A few minutes of tuning here shows up in every script after.
The fields that matter most
Open Voices under DNA and select a voice’s name to open Edit voice.

- Speaking speed (WPM). Words per minute, from 80 to 220 (145 for a new voice). Every script’s length is worked out from it, for long videos and Shorts alike, so if your drafts run long or short against your target, check this first.
- Typical sentence length. Optional, from 3 to 60 words. Matching the voice keeps the draft’s rhythm close to it.
- Signature phrases. Up to five phrases you’re known for. The writer may use each one once in a script, where it fits, so they land without becoming a tic.
- Avoid phrases. Up to five phrases the writer always removes from drafts. List only wording you refuse to say. An avoid phrase that overlaps one of your signature phrases or verbal habits is dropped when you save, so the two lists never fight.
Everything else
- Name. For you, to tell voices apart (required, up to 40 characters).
- Description. A sentence or two on how you sound (required, up to 300 characters).
- Delivery notes. Your pace, energy, what you stress and how you talk to the viewer (up to 500 characters).
- Tone traits. One to three, such as Direct, Warm, Witty, Analytical or Calm.
- Vocabulary notes and Verbal habits. Up to five each: the words you reach for, and the openers, fillers and sign-offs you repeat.
- Example snippets. Up to three short passages in your own words. They’re read for style and never copied into a script.
Choose Save Changes when you’re done. Only the workspace owner can change voices. Members can open them to read.
More than one voice
Open a voice card’s three-dot menu and choose Duplicate to try a variant. You can also choose New voice to write one from scratch, Import voice to learn one from a public video for 5 credits (see Learn from any public video), or Delete one. Pick the voice for each script when you start it.
Tip. Read a draft out loud. Every phrase you stumble on is a candidate for Avoid phrases.
